Nakashima Sake Brewery was established in 1702 in Mizunami town in Gifu Prefecture, central Japan. The brand Kozaemon was launched in 2001 and has become popular locally and abroad as the brewery expanded its export program spurred on by recent generations of the family. This brewery is small with its roots firmly in traditional practice, yet they produce a surprising array of sake using different rice types and brewing methods.
They are focused on brewing with premium quality rice from their partner rice farmers with whom they have long established relationships. Pristine water is sourced from a natural underground spring being fed by the snow melt from nearby Mt. Byobu. They produce an incredibly diverse range of engaging sake always brewed to enhance the enjoyment of food.
