This brewery was established in 1954 and the current owner and master brewer Yoshihiro Miyamori took over the reins from his father at the young age of 26. He was incredibly focused on the details of sake production and inspired by other Fukushima sake producers. He launched the Sharaku flagship brand in 2008 which became hugely popular in his local area and is known for its crisp, balanced sweetness and acidity.
Production of Sharaku sake and support from the larger sake drinking market in Tokyo and beyond helped aid recovery of the Fukushima region after the 2011 Earthquake and tsunami.
