This is one of the few standard products available year round in the Abe Classic series. This Junmai release is a popular sake which is made in continuous batches throughout the year and released to market as either an unpasteurised (Nama) version or single pasteurisation. It does not fit into a defined recipe or classification, and the rice used and its polishing ratio will vary from batch to batch depending on rice growth and harvest conditions. It is always made from local Niigata rice and the flavours may change subtly depending on the brewing lot.
This release has aromas of melon, juicy pear, cucumber skin and citrus peel and the vibrant palate has a distinct grapefruit and tangerine acidity balancing the fruity front palate and umami body. Cleansing and refreshing style which shows the evolution of the brand towards a lower alcohol approach. The Junmai Ginjo Origarami Namazake version of Abe Black has some light cloudiness and a feeling of zesty bubbles on the palate particularly after opening.
