Star Series
Named after the brightest star in the Bootes constellation, this addition to Abe Sake Brewery’s experimental STAR series is sure to surprise and delight.
Like its namesake, the Arcturus has a distinct pink hue. This sparkling sake uses an ancient purple-red rice variety (kodaimai), the source of its unique colour. Vibrant red berry and wild grape aromas kick off the experience, layered with whiffs of cereal from the unpolished rice grains. The refreshing and sharp palate is strong on citrusy malic and lactic acids, and has an underpinning berry tartness, much like in a Pét-Nat or skin contact dry white wine. The finish is structured by slight tannins and subtle astringency.
This sake is single pasteurised in-bottle to preserve freshness, and best served cold. Store in refrigeration to maintain its condition.
