Genkai Wasanbon Sugar Plum Wine is an Umeshu composed of Iki island-grown Japanese plums and fine-grained Japanese sugar, known as Wasanbon, plus Mugi Shochu Iki. After adding all the ingredients, this Umeshu is matured in tanks to integrate the flavours and develop an elegant and mellow sweetness. The Honkaku barley (Mugi) shochu already has an inherent touch of sweetness which is enhanced by the Wasanbon sugar. The intensity of the fruit creates richness in this delicious plum wine and contributes to the alluring aroma.
