This is Mugi (Barley) Shochu which has been stored and matured in White Oak barrels which creates distinctive oaky aromas, mellow flavours and a deeper golden colour. It is very smooth on drinking with ripe fruit, vanilla and caramel notes with developing spiciness and a touch of smoke that lingers on the palate. This Barley shochu is composed of 2/3 premium barley and 1/3 rice propagated with white koji.

Super Gold is an excellent expression of barrel aged shochu and works well with many foods and particularly lean cuts of fish. Savour the velvety texture and complexities of this shochu neat, on the rocks or in a classic cocktail. Mixing with soda will also add an extra dimension to the drinking experience.
