Yomogi or Mugwort (in English) is a uniquely Japanese herb that has a long history as a traditional medicine for detoxification and to improve digestion. In folklore Mugwort was also thought to guard against evil spirits. It’s leaves can be picked young and cooked, and it has a distinctive taste and bitter edge that gives us an invigorating spring feeling. This Dover liqueur is readily identifiable to Japanese people and translates the dynamic taste and aroma in a liquid form. This liqueur is made by slowly steeping the young Mugwort leaves in water, concentrating the aromatic components from the extract and blending them with a base alcohol to accentuate the flavours arising from nature.
