Star Series

Abe Regulus is the second of the brewery’s alternative STAR series named after the first magnitude star in the constellation Leo that can be seen on Spring nights. This sake takes steps towards the wine world with an emphasis on acidity with an accent of minerality. This is a great sake to banish anyone’s preconceptions about sake especially if you are a lover of the vine.

Pour this sake into a wine glass to enjoy the citrus, floral and gentle fruity aromas of grapefruit and macerated green grapes which follow through on the palate, bristling with lively acidity and juicy white peaches. The sake has a refreshing sweetness that is balanced very well by the inherent acidity of the brew. The citrus driven notes stem from the use of white koji in the starter technique for this sake’s fermentation and the brewery has intentionally created a low ABV style of 13% to make it an easy quaffable style which is also great for food pairings with lighter vegetable-based dishes.

This sake has a single pasteurisation in the bottle to maximise freshness and is best served cold. Store in refrigeration to maintain the condition of the sake.
