An elegant, premium sake, Hakurakusei Junmai Daiginjo is made from heirloom Omachi rice milled to 40 percent, giving it a slightly herbal, savoury quality. A light bodied sake with a delicate balance of flavours and textures, this pinnacle of the Hakurakusei series offers a nice balance between subtle sweetness and refined acidity with a hint of banana. The choice of Japan Air Lines for its executive class passengers, Hakurakusei Junmai Daiginjo is the brainchild of Iwao Niizawa, fifth generation descendent of the original owner of Niizawa brewery, which has been making premium sake since 1873.
